CLIA
The Official trade organization of the cruise industry, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) also works in partnership with nearly 17,000 affiliated travel agencies throughout North America to ensure the highest caliber of cruise sales expertise and service for cruise vacationers.
CLIA is consistently rated the most effective travel association in terms of overall support of the travel agency community and the quality of its training programs. For example, CLIA's most comprehensive training is the Cruise Counsellor Certification Program, which requires agents to successfully complete a number of compulsory training courses and exams, attend cruise conferences and conduct ship inspections.
Two of the travel counselors at Wilcox Travel, Terri and Denise, have earned the designation of Accredited Cruise Counsellor and Terri is well on her way to achieving her Master Cruise Counsellor designation.
Wilcox Travel is proud to display the CLIA seal, which identifies them as authorities on selling cruise vacations.

ASTA
ASTA, short for the American Society of Travel Agents, is the world's largest association of travel professionals.
The American Society of Travel Agents' mission is to enhance the professionalism and profitability of member agents through effective representation in industry and government affairs, education and training, and by identifying and meeting the needs of the traveling public.
The ASTA logo is recognized around the world as a symbol of professionalism and integrity. It's a sign of membership in ASTA, the professional affiliation most often endorsed by the media when recommending how to find a reliable travel agent.

The Travel Institute
The Travel Institute is an international, nonprofit organization that educates and certifies travel industry professionals at all career stages. Since its inception in 1964, The Travel Institute's mission has been to increase professionalism within the travel industry and to create national standards of excellence for travel professionals through its educational programs.
Travel professionals must complete intensive course and testing requirements to obtain their certification and satisfy full-time industry work experience. (CTA = at least 18 months; CTC = at least 5 years.)
Members of The Travel Institute belong to a community of professionals dedicated to raising the bar for successful practices in the travel industry. They uphold the commitment to the fervent pursuit of knowledge, sharing insights with others, and the furthering of education and professional development among other travel professionals. They are in a class among the best in the industry.
Margaret Murphy, owner of Wilcox Travel, earned her CTC designation in 1987and has participated in many forums and training sessions thereafter.

Authorized Disney Vacation Planner
Wilcox Travel has been designated by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts as an "Authorized Disney Vacation Planner" (not an agent of the Walt Disney Company or its affiliates), based on its strong support in selling Disney vacations.
Wilcox Travel has been in business in the Syracuse area for 35 years, and has established itself as an area expert on vacations to the Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and Disney Cruise Line vacations.
Many Travel Counselors at Wilcox Travel have received extensive training on Disney Destinations theme parks, resorts, cruises, vacation packages and more, and can provide the utmost in professional assistance in planning customized Disney vacations. In fact, one reason the agency attained the "Authorized Disney Vacation Planner" status, is that at least 50 percent of the front line leisure travel agents are College of Disney Knowledge graduates. The College of Disney Knowledge is an in depth comprehensive correspondence course that allows agents to develop their expertise regarding the Disney Destinations - knowledge, that consumers can take advantage of when planning a Disney vacation.
